Saint Charles Half Marathon is April 18th 2010. Fit Life is now offering a Half Marathon Training program for $25. It includes meeting every Saturday starting 2/27 at the Rail Trail or Milton Somers Middle School. In addition, it has strength training workouts, yoga program, tips on how to be successful in your marathon and a running program.

Charles County Maryland is one of the fastest growing counties in the country so it is only fitting that one of the fastest growing race series comes here in the form of the St Charles Half Marathon presented by Lennar on April 18, 2010! Title sponsor American Community Property Trust (ACPT) joins the Economic Development & Tourism Bureau of Charles County for the 1st ever Half Marathon presented by Lennar which will be part of the nationwide 15-city USRA Half Marathon Series. Within a reasonable distance of Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Richmond and the Carolinas, the course will traverse through ACPT’s planned community St Charles which includes a recently announced cutting edge “green community” initiative with the state of Maryland. 02.04.10 | AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION- Physical inactivity is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, and most Americans are not physically active enough to gain any health benefits. Swimming, cycling, jogging, skiing, aerobic dancing, walking or many other activities can help your heart. Whether it's included in a structured exercise program or part of your daily routine, all physical activity adds up to a healthier heart.

According to the latest joint American Heart Association/American College of Sports Medicine guidelines on physical activity, all healthy adults ages 18–65 should be getting at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity activity five days of the week. However, there are additional guidelines for those 65 and older, or for those 50–64 with chronic conditions or physical functional limitations (e.g., arthritis) that affect movement ability or physical fitness.
